Report: ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ To Return With Live Audience In 2022

The tabloid reports judges David Walliams, Alesha Dixon, Amanda Holden, and Simon Cowell will all return to the panel.

After a year away, Britain’s Got Talent is set to return and reports say the live studio audience is going to return with it.

A report from The Sun says the live audience is set to return for the auditions. Also, the tabloid reports judges David Walliams, Alesha Dixon, Amanda Holden, and Simon Cowell will all return to the panel. Ant and Dec will return to host.

“Though ITV has always said BGT would be back in 2022, a question mark has lingered over whether it would come back in its original form,” a show source told The Sun. “Even I’m A Celebrity is having to stay in North Wales for a second year because of the virus’s impact – and that’s a situation which nobody could have predicted.”

ITV has not confirmed details about the 2022 series but fans can audition online and sign up for free tickets to be in the audience when filming begins.

The broadcaster announced in January the talent competition would not return in 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic, making it the first time since 2007 that the series has been off-air.

“BGT is known for its diversity of talent with big dance groups, wonderful choirs, and lavish orchestras at its heart, and it has become clear that not only is it not possible to film auditions with these types of acts in a secure way but also that they are not able to adequately rehearse and prepare safely.”

“Safety has to come first and, as a result, the recording of the show can’t currently go ahead as planned,” ITV added.

Comedy singer Jon Courtenay won the last series back in 2020, defeating nine other acts to win the £250,000 cash prize and a spot on the Royal Variety Show.

Britain’s Got Talent returns to ITV in 2022.
